Ok…so today, i wanted to make a secure backup script using rsync and ssh. But i wated it unattended…meaning, no user intervension. And i actually did it, but with a lil google search that i’m going to spare you after reading this.

So, when you create a public/private key pair using ssh-keygen you can choose rsa or des cypher for it…and, when you set up your ssh client and server you have to specify a protocol version: 1 or 2. So, based of my google search and experiments today, ssh protocol v1 works only with rsa keys, and ssh protocol v2 work only with des keys. And…be very careful with the settings of paths…to your public and private keys…and should work like a charm..

Began with a useless visit to a hospital trying to get some blood analysis done. Unfortunately…couldn’t find in time the place i should go to get them. When i finally found out where and what i should do, i found out that blood analysis take place only till 9am. And it was 8:40am and had a lot of people ahead of me. So no chance for me to get those tests done. Finally, i called my doctor and asked him if i can do those test at his cabinet, and he said i could. That’s nice, tomorrow morning at 7:30-8:00 i’ll be there, trying once again to get rid of those blood test i have to make. I could be dead till the time i have the results of those test (whenever that might be)…but they don’t give a fuck, as long as they’re sucking from my salary a big amount of money..

Well…there’s nothing to suck from my salary anymore…nothing in my pockets…Last salary is over, my girlfriend’s salary is done. No money left. And, the funny part, we don’t know FOR SURE if we’re getting our salary today, although that should be already solved on 20th. It’s 25th and no news. Last time we heard something from the manager, on friday, they said the salaries will get into our accounts on Monday, and we’ll get an extra “cash” bonus on tuesday….maybe 5E…10E…I expect that from them. So all i have to do now is wait….for my salary, of course. I told my boss (department manager) that i’m not going to get to work tomorrow, because of my lack of money cause by this company. Actually, told him that i’m getting to work as long as my car has gas in it. And i looked at my car’s gas meter. I don’t think i’m gonna be here on thursday if i’m not getting any money till then. And i just calmed down by applying for a job at another company…that’s the only thing making me calm…well..there’s a good blowjob too, but i was strictly referring to money here…and jobs..

..and still no final ideas about an online project that can provide some money…but i’ll think more..and have to come up with something…anything!!

Well…i was very satisfied about my Ubuntu with Compiz Fusion shit. Operating system worked beautiful, fast, secure….but…unstable. That’s the only bad part about what was my operating system for a few weeks now. So i decided to backup everything and have a new start with a Vista Ultimate x86. Last time i had Vista Ultimate x64, and had some fucked up problems with some drivers and some 32 bit application that didn’t wanna work on my laptop.

So, now i’m back on kissing Bill Gates’s ass again…damn!!

So, now i can continue with my CCNA studying and some PHP framework i wanna learn. Btw..with this PHP framework i can make a website. But, unfortunately, i can’t think of something smart to do with it. Some guy from work suggested and online shop. But we don’t have anything to sell….yet.

A lot of shitty things made me really depressed. Money i have to give to banks….Blood coming out of my nose every day…Some people telling me they want me to make some sites…but didn’t decide yet…no news about my re-evaluation..Well i have 2 loans in 2 banks. I wanted this year to get rid of one of them. But looks like i have to give them around $3000 to finish my loan…well..which is really hard to make actually. And i thought that if i’m making any money from those sites, i’ll give them all to that bank so i’ll finish this loan earlier than the end of this year…and still have money for school (which i intend to finish next year), certifications (CCNA), my summer vacation….well…all this with my salary…oh..and the second load payment, of course..

But for now, no news about those sites…Some dude here in my office promised me one day that he’ll get me some tasty mustard that he found in a supermarket. And he actually did…2 days ago. I kept laughing for like 10 minutes….i couldn’t believe it. But the mustard wasn’t that good as he said…anyway…that make me forget about my depressive state of mind.

The blood thing…well…it happens almost every morning when blowing my nose. Today was different. Happened once while blowing my nose, second time while taking a shit, 3rd time while watching tv. I’ve seen enough blood for today…and decided to see my doctor…but not when i needed him, but when he’s available to the public, meaning 3.30pm. Which means i’m gonna leave work at 2:30pm and go see him…and then go to a hospital or something. We’ll see…

Well..i got desperate with reading that CCNA Exploration curriculum. I tried on Firefox with flash plugin…didn’t work…i tried with Opera with flash plugin…didn’t work..the last thing was IE6 sp1 on wine + flash plugin. Well..useless, still didn’t work. So i tried to look for virtualization on my Ubuntu 7.10. First…i found Xen. Well..i installed Xen….some kernel support for Xen (so..another, different kernel) and turned out that the new kernel was a mess. At least for my Inspiron 1501. So, after installing all that shit, i deinstalled all of that shit, rebooted with my old working kernel. It worked as it used to. Ha..and they say “home of the Xen® hypervisor, the powerful open source industry standard for virtualization.”. Well..it wasn’t easy enough for me to set up in minutes ..so i googled for something else.

And i found VirtualBox. Of course…they have a commercial version for those who wanna use this on 500 computers in a company…but has the OSE version (Open Source Edition) which is available on Ubuntu repository. It’s simple to install…simple to administer…has this GUI shit that offers pretty much all that you need. So, i proudly recommend VirtualBox if you want virtualization on a linux host without headaches. Now i have my Ubuntu 7.10 and a Windows XP SP2 “genuised” running both at the same time like a charm.

3 things you have to get done in order for VirtualBox to work:

1. make sure that its module is inserted into your kernel and if not, run something like “/etc/init.d/vboxdrv start” and it’s gonna get into your kernel right away. As i remember about my installation, for some reason when i installed this using “apt-get install …” kernel module wasn’t inserted, so i had to start that vboxdrv again.

2. your username has to be in the vboxusers group. You can easily accomplish that from a root terminal:
usermod -a -G vboxusers your_username

3. after you install your guest operating system, some things in the documentation posted on their site will not work. That’s because you didn’t install VirtualBox Additions. That’s easy to do. So..you installed Windows on your guest machine..you will see that you’ll even have some driver problems…That’s all gonna disappear with those Additions. So you can install those Additions from the guest window menu…“Devices > Install guest Additions”. This will download a small 5MB iso from the internet and insert it into your guest CD-ROM device. Double click the .exe file…and you’ll have driver problems solved…and filesharing between host and guest will work as a charm.

That’s it…i’ve stayed till 4am last night to get my “genuised” windows up to date and with CCNA Exploration curriculum working. And..funny thing..it didn’t work on the newly installed IE7 with pop-up blocker disabled and other bullshit…but worked on Firefox. Daaamn!

Or…Content Management System. Put in simple words: you wanna make a website, and don’t wanna spend 2000E on that site. So, what are your choices?..Learn PHP/MySQL, HTML…pay some indian dude to make it – that if he’s not running with your money…or use a CMS. So yes…you can build websites using a CMS. Well, looking for the best one out there, and open source (yeah..i want something cheap…even free) i found this website where they gave awards to some of them. So..for overall award, the winners are:

1. Drupal
2. Joomla!
3. CMS Made Simple

Well, i also remember from the first time i looked for CMS, one called Mambo, and actually, i’ve seen some websites made in Mambo, but don’t know why isn’t it an award winner on that page. Today i tested joomla!, just because i’ve seen that their “extension” page…well…has a lot of content. Didn’t count the number of extensions, but they’re a lot of them, and if you google search for “joomla templates” you will find some great free templates, especially the ones from siteground.com. Have fun building websites, instead of paying too much for them.

When i told my department manager that the girl from HR told me about salary renegociation every 6 months when i got hired to this company, he told me to wait for the re-evaluation that should be on January. Well..there was NO reevaluation in January…but 2 days ago i received from him some stupid forms to complete, on which i should evaluate myself. That’s ok…or not, considering that ..2 days ago, before he sent that to all of us, he also told us that he has his own opinions and ours doesn’t matter to him. Something like “you can complete however u want those forms, the decision is based on my opinion”. Again…work (not actual work, but..time spent with no actual reason) in vain.

Another bullshit thing happened today. When i got to work i found out from some e-mails i got that people wanting to e-mail our branch in Bulgaria, got some errors. So i started debugging. Well…manager came…told us that an official visit is coming and our office should be clean…drug store clean…everything in order…that shit. I told him that i got something more important to do. Well..no…i had to clean my desk. While i was cleaning my desk and all that shit, some italian dude called him and told him about the e-mail problem i was trying to solve. He came to me giving me his cell phone to talk to that dude. I told him i’m busy (didn’t say what i was doing, although if i’d said it..) ..and i discovered what was the problem and fixed it, but after i was done cleaning my desk.

And the last bullshit thing for today…so far. We have a server room. All network and phone connections are coming to that room. We needed to test all equippment getting out from the company to some branch or something, to be sure that if someone is going there, he/she should be done in 5 minutes with network and phones installation. Well..where can we test network and phones and all that shit?..of course, in the server room. Bad thing is that the equippment was put in place for the cables to get to them, not in some order. Today, our manager told us that we should put the things in order there. I tried to tell him that all equippment is gonna go to Albania, and we need them in that place so we could test them before they are sent….but…nothing. He even threatened that if the helpdesk team is not doing it, he will, and he will remember that (probably when he re-evaluates them??). Maybe just the same as he threatened me like if i refuse to go in countries like Kosovo or Albania, it should affect my re-evaluation. Nice manager, isn’t he?

It’s a name of a local TV show that i watched last night. The subject is like this: x comes to the host of the show, telling him that he/she thinks that his/her wife/friend is cheating…or…if he/she has the chance, he/she’ll take it. Well…i watched 2 parts of that show, with 2 different couples.
